Why should I use Saicos Hardwax Oil above Varnishes and Lacquers?
Saicos products are made of natural vegetable oils and waxes, which has been specially formulated to penetrate the micro porous nature of wood. It protects and revitalises the wood and allows it to breath. In various situations wood expands and contracts and wood treated with Saicos has the ability to move without cracking or flaking. On the other hand wood treated with varnishes and lacquers are restricted in movement and over time will blister, crack and peel. Micro fine cracks can give the finish a grey look and is caused by light refraction.

Floors treated with Saicos will be water and dirt repellent. It is also non-slip and easy to maintain. Saicos products are quick and easy to apply,and dries quickly than other oiled based paints.

All our products complies with European DIN 53160 T. 1+2 and EN 71 T.3 makes them safe for humans, animals and plants when dry and even safe to use on children’s toys.

Another advantage of using Saicos Hardwax Oil is there is no need to sand between coats when applying and ideal for partial renovation of damaged areas..

I am not getting the quicker drying times

Drying times depend on a number of factors including humidity (Max. 15%) and temperature. Perhaps the most common reasons for extended drying times is that the oil has been applied too thick. All Saicos products have to be applied thinly whether using a spatula, shorthaired roller, floor brush, hand brush or other method of application.

I am not getting the coverage as advertised

Coverage depends on a number of important factors:

• The thickness of application
• The method of application
• The final ‘grit’ surface of the wood (grain 120-150)
• The type of wood
• Surface is not dry and clean (dust free)

It is important to maintain and care for your oiled or lacquered floor to keep them looking in good condition for a long time.

Few important effortless tips

If there are stubborn persistent stains appears you can
1. Mop with a diluted solution i.e. Saicos Wash Care, Magic Cleanser for heavily soiled or worn floors
2. A good liquid Wax Care can remove even the most permanent stains i.e. Saicos Wax Care

In general the advertise coverage is very conservative and on certain hard woods the coverage could be 60% more. The best coverage can be achieved with a surface of 150 – 300 grit. Apply with roller, except DryMax oil and Duotop which is applied with a spatula.
